Effect of pre-oxidation on strength and thermal shock behavior of ZrB_2-SiC-graphite ceramic composites被引量:1

A novelty technique,namely,pre-oxidation,has been proposed to improve the strength and thermal shock behavior of ZrB2-SiC-graphite ceramic composites,which is a promising candidate for ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) in aerospace engineering. The composite is pre-oxidized at temperatures of 900 ℃ and 1100 ℃ for 1 h and 3 h in air. A theoretical model considering surface heat transfer has been given and analyzed. A water-quenching technique is adopted at different temperatures from 300 ℃ to 600 ℃ in order to investigate the thermal shock behavior of pre-oxidized composites. The critical thermal shock temperature improves more than 40% after pre-oxidizing at 1100 ℃ for 3 h. However,the composites strength is not improved as a result of the insensitivity to surface defects.

The nonlocal solution of two parallel cracks in functionally graded materials subjected to harmonic anti-plane shear waves被引量:5

In this paper, the dynamic interaction of two parallel cracks in functionally graded materials (FGMs) is investigated by means of the non-local theory. To make the analysis tractable, the shear modulus and the material density are assumed to vary exponentially with the coordinate vertical to the crack. To reduce mathematical difficulties, a one-dimensional non-local kernel is used instead of a twodimensional one for the dynamic problem to obtain stress fields near the crack tips. By use of the Fourier transform, the problem can be solved with the help of two pairs of dual integral equations, in which the unknown variables are the jumps of displacements across the crack surfaces. To solve the dual integral equations, the jumps of displacements across the crack surfaces are expanded in a series of Jacobi polynomials. Unlike the classical elasticity solutions, it is found that no stress singularity is present at the crack tips. The non-local elastic solutions yield a finite hoop stress at the crack tips. The present result provides theoretical references helpful for evaluating relevant strength and preventing material failure of FGMs with initial cracks. The magnitude of the finite stress field depends on relevant parameters, such as the crack length, the distance between two parallel cracks, the parameter describing the FGMs, the frequency of the incident waves and the lattice parameter of materials.

采用人工神经网络(ANN)对炭/炭复合材料烧蚀性能进行了预测。确定了炭/炭复合材料的密度、石墨化程度和基体炭类型为其烧蚀性能的关键控制因素,通过人工神经网络表征了炭/炭复合材料的密度、石墨化程度与其烧蚀性能之间的关系。在大量实验基础上对神经网络结构与参数发生变化时的网络性能进行了评估。结果表明,当网络训练集规模、隐层节点数、初始学习率与动量项等参数的取值分别为35、7、0.5和0.2时网络预测性能达到最佳状态,在此基础之上对炭/炭复合材料的质量烧蚀率进行了预测与评价。实践证明,采用人工神经网络对炭/炭复合材料的烧蚀性能进行预测时误差小于11%,满足工程实践的精度要求。

SCATTERING OF HARMONIC ANTI-PLANE SHEAR STRESS WAVES BY A CRACK IN FUNCTIONALLY GRADED PIEZOELECTRIC/PIEZOMAGNETIC MATERIALS被引量:6

In this paper, the dynamic behavior of a permeable crack in functionally graded piezoelectric/piezomagnetic materials is investigated. To make the analysis tractable, it is assumed that the material properties vary exponentially with the coordinate parallel to the crack. By using the Fourier transform, the problem can be solved with the help of a pair of dual integral equations in which the unknown is the jump of displacements across the crack surfaces. These equations are solved to obtain the relations between the electric filed, the magnetic flux field and the dynamic stress field near the crack tips using the Schmidt method. Numerical examples are provided to show the effect of the functionally graded parameter and the circular frequency of the incident waves upon the stress, the electric displacement and the magnetic flux intensity factors of the crack.

该文提供了一种通过分析烧蚀后的材料产物的发射光谱,从而由其获得烧蚀产物非接触式在线检测方法。在防热材料烧蚀过程中,通过探测交流等离子射流作用下气态产物的特征光谱,得到材料烧蚀的中间产物成分及浓度随时间与空间的变化规律。

The behavior of a Mode-I finite crack in functionally graded materials is investigated using the non-local theory. The problem in this paper can be solved through the Fourier transform with the help of two pairs of dual integral equations, in which the unknown variables are jumps of dis- placements across crack surfaces. Unlike the classical elasticity solutions, it is found that no stress singularities are present at crack tips. The non-local elastic solu- tions yield a finite stress at crack tips, thus allowing us to use the maximum stress as a fracture crite- rion. Numerical examples are provided to show the effects of the crack length, the parameter describ- ing the functionally graded materials, the lattice parameter of materials and the materials constants upon the stress fields near crack tips.
