1,1′-Ferrocenedialdehyde is one of the most important ferrocene derivatives from a practical and theoretical point of view.Based on our summarizing references the improved method for the synthesis of 1,1′-ferrocenedialdehyde is achieved with a high yield from dilithioferrocene and N,N-dimethylformamide.1H NMR is used to characterize the structure of resulting product.The possible synthetic mechanism is discussed,and the redox of 1,1′-ferrocenedialdehyde is evaluated.
